The Freccia nel Cielo (‘Arrow in the Sky’) cable car climbs from Cortina close to the summit of Tofana di Mezzo. From the top, the view takes in the Cinque Torri, the Marmolada and the Cristallo.

When to go
In winter the Tofane are Cortina’s main ski area, home to the Olympia delle Tofane World Cup run, used for women’s alpine skiing at the 2026 Winter Olympics. In summer, via ferratas and the Tofana di Rozes paths draw climbers and hikers.
Good to know
The Tofane are three summits: Tofana di Rozes, Tofana di Mezzo and Tofana di Dentro. Their huge south faces glow orange above Cortina at sunset.
